Priory Church in Wales  School is Voluntary Aided (VA). The key characteristics of a VA school are:

• The Church or Foundation governors are an absolute majority

• The governors appoint and employ all staff

• Governors are responsible for admissions arrangement

• The LA and the DDE have similar rights to attend governors meetings and to advise

Religion, Values and Ethics In The Curriculum for Wales (2022)

‘Religion, values and ethics’ is a mandatory element of the new curriculum for pupils aged 3 to 16 years. There will be no parental right to withdraw children from education in religion, values and ethics. It is therefore crucial that RVE is taught through an approach that is objective critical and pluralistic that displays no bias towards any particular beliefs.
